Building with earth is an uplifting experience. Whether you are building a cob bench, wall, or oven; installing an adobe floor; or earthen plastering over straw-bale walls, it is about connecting with the earth – with your hands, your feet, your body and your soul. The results are invariably organic, flowing, graceful and warm – a marvel to look upon, and a joy to live around.

But before you even begin planning your exciting earthen construction project, you should gain a true understanding of the raw materials, the various techniques, and potential problems.
